Adding Accents to Fills

If your fills feel flat or predictable, a splash cymbal is often the missing piece. It adds a short, bright accent that punctuates the end of a fill or highlights a specific beat.

Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between a splash and a crash cymbal?

A splash cymbal is smaller and generally has a much faster decay than a crash — the sound is short and sharp rather than sustained. Splashes are used for quick accents, while crashes are used for bigger, sustained hits at the end of fills or sections.

Can I use this cymbal with any electronic drum module?

Yes. The 9" Lemon Dual Zone Splash Cymbal uses a standard TRS connection compatible with all major electronic drum modules, including Roland, Alesis, and Yamaha. Having said tt, it is always advisable to check modules manual first.

Does this cymbal have choke functionality?

Yes — grabbing the edge of the cymbal while it's ringing will instantly mute the sound, just like choking a real splash cymbal. Just to add to the confusion Lemon Cymbals also have the choke feature, but this is not classified as a zone

What's "dual-zone" triggering and why does it matter?

Dual-zone means the cymbal has two separately triggered areas — the bow (top surface) and the edge. This lets your drum module distinguish between the two, giving you two different tones and articulations from a single cymbal, rather than one flat trigger response.

Care Guide
